Morkerbook Kennels are situated in the country area of Bundaberg approximately 3.5 hours north of Brisbane. We are a small kennel, breeding for work, show, obedience, and companionship. Our own dogs are used for show purposes mainly, however our kelpies have proved themselves working stock including sheep and cattle, while others have become Obedience Champions, or just the best loved pets. We are the only kennel in Queensland to campaign 5 of our kelpies to become GRAND CHAMPIONS and 4 to become SUPREME CHAMPIONS. Our Vallhunds have also done well with 4 achieving their GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS and 1 SUPREME CHAMPION.

In 2012 a new title has been added - Supreme Champion.  Our boy Grand Champion Morkerbook Burning Flame achieved this title in July, making him the FIRST SUPREME CHAMPION KELPIE IN AUSTRALIA.  Two months later Grand Champion Morkerbook Suntucht Bell attains her SUPREME CHAMPION title also, making her the FIRST KELPIE BITCH IN QUEENSLAND to hold this title. 

WELL DONE to Grand Champion Morkerbook Blazen Dare and Ch Kusco Daretobe Kosi on achieving their Rally Novice titles in 2012.

In 2013 Ch Morkerbook Sun Warrior became the THIRD SUPREME CHAMPION for the Morkerbook Kennels.  Both his mother and father are Supreme Champions and he is the first kelpie in Australia to be a Supreme Champion himself, and have both his parents Supreme Champions as well.

In 2015 we have added another TWO GRAND CHAMPIONS to our kennels and they are our brother and sister Swedish Vallhunds Grand Champion Dlarah Bitter Sweet Symphany and Grand Champion Dlarah Cheers Drink To That.  Also in 2015 the show ring has included the Neuter class and Morkerbook Kennels has this year had two of their dogs attain this title - Grand Champion and Neuter Champion Morkerbook Blazen Dare RN owned by Jan Scholtz and Australian Champion and Neuter Champion Morkerbook Hot Embers.  Great effort by these two golden oldies!

In 2016 our young boy Ch Morkerbook Sizzlin Jade became our FOURTH SUPREME CHAMPION for the Morkerbook Kennels.  This young boy also managed a feat that we had not done before and that was to achieve a Back to Back Best in Show in one weekend!  Great effort for a kelpie!

2017 has seen another one of our kelpies Ch Morkerbook Sun Diva becoming a new GRAND CHAMPION and our 3 Swedish Vallhund youngsters all become Australian Champions as well as our young kelpie Ch Morkerbook Copper Maiden.  What a busy year it has been!

2019 was the year for the Vallhunds. Firstly in May Ch Morkerbook Cruisn In My Chevy was awarded Reserve in Show. Then in October, he did one better and was awarded Best in Show also attaining his SUPREME CHAMPION title. Our first homebred Supreme Champion Vallhund and our first Vallhund to win Best in Show. What a proud moment!

On the kelpie front,  Jan Scholtz and Morkerbook Saffire Night have had a great year with Saffie gaining her Championship. Well done team! Our kelpie girls, Morkerbook Sparklin Night and Morkerbook Shimmerin Night also gained their Championship with numerous classes in group and show along the way.

Supreme Champion Morkerbook Cruisn In My Chevy had a great year in 2023 adding 2 Best in Shows and 1 Reserve in Show to his list of achievements at the age of 7 years old.  Australian Champion and Neuter Champion Morkerbook Copper Maiden has had a great year in the Neuter Class winning numerous Neuter in Group and converting several of them to Neuter in Show or Runner Up Neuter in Show as well.
